When county information is not available

If AssessLess cannot find enough county information for your property, it may ask you to upload an official assessment, parcel, or tax PDF.

What AssessLess can’t do

AssessLess is not legal or tax advice, does not file appeals, represent homeowners, confirm deadlines, or promise a lower assessment. Use official county sources for filing rules and deadlines.

Before you start

  • Check the supported counties message shown by AssessLess before assuming the property can use the usual property-record option.
  • If your county is not listed or that option is incomplete, find an official assessment, parcel, or tax PDF before using the fallback upload.

What to do

  1. Read the county availability message and what AssessLess needs from you.
  2. Upload an official PDF only when AssessLess asks for one for your property and tax year.
  3. Do not scrape county pages, paywalled records, CAPTCHA-protected pages, or login-only sources to force a match.
  4. If no upload option appears and AssessLess cannot continue for your county, stop there.

Why this matters: AssessLess relies on reliable official information. An upload request does not mean AssessLess has county support or access to restricted county records.

If something goes wrong: If availability is unclear, use an official public source for your own records, wait for AssessLess to offer a next step, and do not email private PDFs or unrelated documents to support.
